Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 7 September 2026
About this policy
Swig & Solve is a trading name of Lock Learners Limited, company number 15117893, providing events in the North West of England.
This policy applies to tickets purchased directly from Swig & Solve for events taking place on a specified date. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions.
Our correspondence address is 19 The Hawthorns, Cabus, Preston, England, PR3 1NF. You can contact us at Email us or on 07435 561258.
Cancelling with at least ten working days’ notice
You may cancel your booking for a full refund if we receive your cancellation request at least ten clear working days before the event.
Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays in England and Wales. We do not count the day we receive your request or the day of the event. There must therefore be at least ten complete working days between those dates.
We use UK local time and the time your email reaches our inbox, not the time we read or reply to it.
The refund covers the amount you paid us for the cancelled tickets, including any compulsory booking charges we collected for those tickets. You may cancel all or part of your booking.
Cancelling with less than ten working days’ notice
If we receive your request after that deadline, your tickets are normally non-refundable because we have reserved places for you and may be unable to resell them at short notice.
Any amount we retain will be limited to a reasonable reflection of our net loss from the cancellation, up to the amount paid. We will take reasonable steps to reduce that loss and take account of costs saved and income from reselling your cancelled places.
If our net loss is less than the amount paid, we will refund the difference. We will not recover the same loss twice.
Missed events and late arrivals
If you do not attend, forget your booking or arrive too late to participate, you are not normally entitled to a refund or replacement event. The same net-loss limits described above apply to any payment retained.
Illness, emergencies and changes of plan
We understand that illness, family emergencies and unexpected changes can happen. These circumstances do not automatically create an entitlement to a refund after the cancellation deadline.
Please contact us as soon as possible. Where practical, we may offer a ticket transfer or another goodwill arrangement, but this is subject to availability and is not guaranteed. This does not affect any rights you have under the law.
Transferring tickets or changing dates
If you cannot attend, you may ask to transfer your ticket to another person at no additional charge. Please email us before the event so that we can update the booking. The replacement attendee must meet the event’s stated entry requirements. A ticket may only be used once.
Requests to move a booking to another date are subject to availability and our agreement. A requested change is not confirmed until we confirm it in writing.
For a date change requested by you, the original booking’s cancellation deadline continues to apply unless we expressly agree otherwise. A date change does not restart that deadline or revive an expired refund entitlement. This does not apply where we postpone or significantly change an event.
If we cancel or significantly change an event
If we cancel your event, you may choose a full refund of the amount paid to us for the affected tickets, including compulsory booking charges we collected, or an alternative event if one is available. You do not have to accept credit or a replacement booking.
If we postpone the event or significantly change its location or main content, we will explain the change and offer you the choice of accepting it or receiving a full refund for the affected tickets.
Minor adjustments that do not materially affect the advertised experience do not automatically create a refund entitlement. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
These provisions also apply where an event cannot go ahead because of circumstances outside our reasonable control, subject to any additional rights you have under the law.
How to request a cancellation or refund
Email Email us with your booking name, booking reference, event date and the tickets you wish to cancel. A cancellation request must clearly state that you wish to cancel; an enquiry about your options will not itself cancel the booking.
We will acknowledge your request and confirm the outcome. If you do not receive an acknowledgement within two working days, please follow up by email or call 07435 561258. A delay in our response does not change the original receipt date of your request.
How refunds are paid
We will issue refunds without undue delay and normally within 14 calendar days of receiving a qualifying cancellation request or confirming that an event will not go ahead. Where a late-cancellation refund depends on resale or calculating our net loss, we will explain this and process any balance promptly once it can be established. Any shorter statutory deadline takes priority.
Refunds are made to the original payment method unless another method is agreed. Your payment provider may take additional time to show the credit.
Your legal rights
Bookings for leisure activities on a specified date are normally excluded from the statutory 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights where a service is not supplied with reasonable care and skill, is not as described, or where the law otherwise requires a refund or another remedy.
