Something different is coming to The Bowling Green
Swig & Solve brings people together around handcrafted mystery chests packed with hands-on puzzles, locks, compartments and shared discoveries.
It has the satisfying discovery of an escape room, but in a much more relaxed and social setting. Your group plays together around its own table, with time to chat, enjoy a drink and work things out at your own pace. No locked room. No countdown pressure. No need to race.
The experience is fully hosted, with a little humour and a helpful nudge available whenever you need one.
And finding the treasure isn't the end. Once you've completed the main chest, the Tavern Menu opens up a selection of bonus challenges to continue exploring together.

The Lost Treasure
A pirate-themed mystery packed with bespoke, hands-on puzzles and plenty to discover.
Every puzzle is different, with successful solutions unlocking new compartments, objects and challenges as your group works its way deeper into the chest and towards the treasure.
Expect shared problem-solving, satisfying discoveries and plenty of those moments when something suddenly clicks into place.

Standard Voyage
The full Swig & Solve experience, with balanced clues and signposting to keep the adventure flowing.
Blackbeard's Challenge
For experienced puzzlers or groups looking for something trickier. The same mystery chest and core puzzles, but with less signposting and more left for your group to work out.
Neither option is a race. Choose whichever sounds right for your group and enjoy the experience at your own pace.

Once the main treasure has been found, choose from the Tavern Menu - a collection of larger bonus challenges ranging from quick satisfying solves to puzzles with a little more bite.
There is plenty to get stuck into across the full experience, whether this is your first puzzle event or you're a seasoned escape-room player.

Booking
Choose a chest for a group of 3, 4, 5 or 6 players. Your group will have its own mystery chest and table throughout the experience.
You'll also choose between Standard Voyage and Blackbeard's Challenge when booking.
Only six chests are available for this event.
Suitable for ages 16+. Under-18s must attend alongside an adult. Individual venue age policies may apply.

Please arrive around 10 minutes early so you can find your table, order a drink and be ready to begin.
Photos and spoilers
You're welcome to take photographs with the chest before the game begins.
Once gameplay starts, please avoid photographing or filming clues, open compartments or puzzle materials. Keeping what's inside under wraps means future groups get the same experience of discovery.
We may take occasional general atmosphere photographs or short video clips during the evening. Please speak to us before the game if you'd prefer not to appear in them.
